“Maximum Power Point Tracking for Solar PV Systems”

Abstract

There is a growing attention towards the use of renewable energy source in recent decades because of the concern for environmental pollution and possible energy crisis in the future. In recent years, the solar PV energy is attracting substantial interest from the renewable energy communities. However, it suffers from low conversion efficiency. Thus, power output maximization is a very important task with solar PV. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) have been used to get the most power out of a renewable energy system such as solar energy. To automatically adjust the operating voltage of solar close to maximum power point through changing conditions of atmosphere is the purpose of working with maximum power point tracking control. In this talk, definitions, several equations, algorithms, and some soft computing technique, comparisons are discussed in detail. Further, some research directions are presented in the conclusion.
